"Real-world parallels with memorable characters and high-stakes conflict The Rebels is probably the best installment in the series. After a quick recap by Addie the chronicler, we are thrown into the midst of a vicious attack. A few chapters later, there comes a bloodcurdling plan for revenge by Supreme Commander Botta, the main villain of the series. Botta is a cruel, deranged authoritarian, and his allies are a bunch of bootlickers. And since most of the protagonists are persecuted because of their race, the book serves as a chilling reminder of what’s happening in the real world, while offering a wonderful escape from reality. Luckily, there is an incredible power in the intended victims, mostly little children. Their camaraderie and courage are a sharp contrast to the baseness and cowardice of their adult, armed tormentors. Most of the second half of the book revolves around a diabolical scheme aimed at destroying the children and a plan devised to save them. Both will make you fly through the chapters with a held breath. Bring on Book 6!
