"Since the first page, Jim made me cheer for the brave, resilient heroes and hate the baseness and cruelty of their tormentors. The fact that the former are kids and the latter are burly, armed men deepens the emotions disproportionally.

And when another group of children—helped by unique beings—made a daring plan to free their friends, I got hooked!

Despite their failures and obstacles, the heroes persevere, driven by an incredible determination that is as inspiring as their bravery in the face of death. I kept turning pages just to see what would happen next and how they could ever come out of all those dangers alive.
